Brighton's only gay and lesbian partner dance group. All ballroom, latin and jive dances are covered from quickstep, waltz and tango through bossanova, rumba cha-cha and on to jive, salsa and west coast swing.
We meet on Tuesdays from 7:30pm and the format of the evening is as follows:
for the first hour the improvers, or people who know the basics in most dances, concentrate on a particular dance chosen every 5 weeks or so, rotating through ballroom, latin and jive. For the second hour, beginners have the opportunity to learn the basics in a number of dances. The improvers stay on for that class to help as needed or to learn the basics in a new dance.
For the last half hour there is general dancing or we learn a new sequence dance. After the class we often go on to a local pub for a drink and a chat.
You don't need a partner and no previous experience is necessary.
